Renovating your kitchen starts with precise measurements! Follow these simple steps to measure your kitchen and then upload your drawing and photos to our website or social media pages so we can begin designing your gorgeous kitchen!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Tape Measure
- Graph or Plain Sheet Paper
- Pencil and Eraser
- Smartphone or Camera
STEP
01
SKETCH THE LAYOUT AND TAKE PICTURES
- Draw the overall shape of your kitchen. (L-shaped, U-shaped, galley, etc.) Include walls, windows, doors and any openings.
- Note fixed features. Label appliances, plumbing locations (sinks), gas supply line and any structural elements that cannot be moved.
- Take photos of the entire kitchen to share with your designer. Include wide shots to show the overall space. Don’t forget the details, like corners, appliances and unique architectural features.

MEASURE THE WALLS
- Measure wall-to-wall dimensions. Use your tape measure to record the full length of each wall.
- Include openings. Measure the width and height of windows and doors, as well as their distances from adjacent walls. Be sure to include the frame/molding.
- Also note the distance from the floor to the bottom of the window.

MEASURE CEILING HEIGHT
- Measure from the floor to the ceiling in at least two different locations to ensure consistency.
- Note the highest and shortest measurements if there is a variance.
- If you have soffits, be sure to measure the height and width as well!

MEASURE APPLIANCES
- Measure width, height and depth of all appliances including refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and any other appliances. Also measure the center of each appliance to the nearest wall.
- If you are planning on getting new appliances, please provide your designer with the manufacturer and model information to be sure the new design will accommodate.
- Don’t forget electrical outlets and switches! Measure these the same way as you would the appliances.

REVIEW YOUR SKETCH
- Double-check all measurements to ensure accuracy.
- Add notes to include any preferences, like keeping certain elements in the same place or adding special features.

UPLOAD YOUR SKETCH AND PHOTOS
- Visit our website and navigate to the Upload Your Measurements section and fill in the form to upload your sketch and photos.
- Share on social media! Post your Sketch and photos to our Facebook or Instagram pages with the hashtag #KitchenExpoDesign and tag us @KitchenExpo.
